Hamilton, OntarioService Line Warranties of Canada, Inc. (SLWC), a HomeServe company, is pleased to make external water line, sewer lateral and in-home plumbing repair protection available to Hamilton homeowners. “We are thrilled and honored that the City of Hamilton selected SLWC as their service line and in-home plumbing warranty service provider,” said Chief Executive Officer, Philip Riley, Jr. “As the first city in Ontario to introduce this kind of repair protection to its residents, SLWC is committed to providing exceptional customer service and complementing the outstanding reputation the City of Hamilton has with its residents.”

Through a partnership with the City, SLWC will provide affordable repair protection for the broken, leaking and clogged water and sewer lines running between the public connection to the exterior of the home and in-home plumbing repair services. While efforts are underway to repair and replace the public water and sewer infrastructure, they do not address repairs to the private lines for which the homeowner is responsible and may cost thousands of dollars to repair. Fluctuating temperatures, age, ground shifting and tree root invasion all contribute to the failure of service lines—both public and private.

Mr. Riley continued, “As homeowners, because the service lines lie underground, we don’t think about them. The SLWC Service Line Warranty and In-Home Plumbing Repair Program gives homeowners peace of mind knowing that with one call their line will be repaired quickly, to their satisfaction and in accordance with the Ontario Building Code.”
“This program provides homeowners with the opportunity to educate themselves about their responsibilities for the maintenance, repair and replacement of water and sewer service lines while offering an optional solution for those who would like to participate—all at no cost to the City,” said Mike Zegarac, General Manager of Finance and Corporate Services with the City of Hamilton.
